I find myself with a few spare days before going to Auckland so I'm heading for Napier and plan to watch Canada v Japan. I have missed the cut off date for tickets. Does anyone know where I can get a couple ?

Wanted to start this BEFORE our first game.
Canada's stated goal is to WIN this B Championship
and return to the Top 12. Last year Italy did that
and CANADA finished 6th. That was our lowest finish
ever and U20 head coach Tim Murdy fell on his sword.
Rugby Canada replaced TM with Englishman, Mike Shelly.
So now we have a Kiwi Mens Coach, a Welsh 7s Coach and
English U20 Coach. Rugby Canada did fire Canadian John
Tait when they fired 7's coach Morgan Williams. John kept
his mouth shut and was rehired as Women's Coach. So far
he is doing quite well in that job.
RC's idea that we need outside leadership to make our
National Teams better. They are WRONG!

You read on the RC website 05/20 "Geraint John pleased
with progress" A full-blown 5 days of fitness,skills, and
analyzing has left Canada in a strong position to end the
sevens season on a high note. Good words but they are just
WORDS. Results in London 1 win 4 losses No IRB 7s points.

Now the 'B' U20 World Championships begin. Remember Mike
No Excuses! Just Results.

Our U17 team is in Santa Barbara for two games against
the USA High School Allstars (U18). What I don't understand
is "Why 66% of voters on the Rugby Canada site believe
that we should WIN both our games?" What was their vote based on, Rugby Ignorance? If you have little knowledge
on a subject, don't VOTE. If the RC poll asked how do you
HOPE U17 Canada will do, then I get it. Too many Hopers!
I voted 0 wins 2 losses based on the age difference and the
fact that in last year's games we scored two trys and lost both games by a combined score of 15 points for 75 against.
Interesting Note #9 Riley Locker, who is playing for the
Americans, played scrum half for U17 Canada, last year.
Does anyone know what RC charged these kids to rep their
country?

Good morning, everyone.

As Spanish and journalist, I have decided to open this topic and share all the informations from today, when the national coaches and captains will offer a press conference, to Saturday, with the report of the match.

There are three hours until the press conference. I know there is not much time, but anyway: if you want to ask something to Canadian staff, let me know and I will ask!

With damage to the pitch at UBC Thunderbird Stadium considered so extensive as to make the surface unplayable, Rugby Canada has moved the location of the Canada vs Russia international rugby match on November 28th, to Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, BC.

"It was the only thing to do," contends Rugby Canada CEO Graham Brown, after he and referee development director Dr. Trevor Arnold inspected the Thunderbird Stadium facility earlier this week. "There was no prospect of the field
recovering in time due to the time of year and the wet conditions on the lower mainland."

The damage in question resulted from a series of games played over ten days ago as part of the Canadian Inter-University Sports national women's championships. Heavy rain coupled with multiple matches resulted in torn turf, mud - and sink holes.

While UBC worked diligently to repair the pitch it was clear there was not enough time for the key factor in rehabilitating a damaged ground, which is sunshine and new grass growth.

"We are putting on an international rugby match here, so there are standards that are strictly adhered to, both to ensure a good contest, but more importantly from a health and safety perspective for the players," said Brown."We appreciate all the UBC tried to do to make things right, but the one thing none of us had was the luxury of time."

Ticket prices remain the same, as does the kick-off time and date - November 28th - 3 PM.

Tickets already purchased for the UBC Thunderbird Stadium match will be honoured at Swangard Stadium, which last hosted a test rugby match in 2001 when England took on Canada.

"Swangard is a great facility and we are very thankful that stadium officials were able to help us out on such short notice," said Brown."The fact that no one has been on the pitch in well over a month means it will be a great surface to play on."

Swangard Stadium is located on the Skytrain line at Patterson station - and easily accessible from Highway 1, with plenty of parking nearby.
