Like it or not, the list of players and the tone set by the coaches for Florida confirms that the pathway to the NSWT goes through the CIS system. While this has some merrit and value, I am still dismayed that we have dumped the U-23 program. If the ladies do not shine by the age of 20, my fear is that we will loose many of them after that age.

I think most of them play both club and CIS,

Fan i agree whole heartedly with you. in most sports such as hockey, football and basketball yes by the time you are 20 it is known if you are good enough to play this game at the top level. it's known because you have had a stick or ball in your hands since you could walk. but with rugby (men and women's) in canada it is generally started (and focused on) at a much later age. in rugby playing countries like england, sth africa, new zealand and australia kids play rugby from when they can walk. hence the ability to identify talent early. the same as hockey here. eberle and hall are 19, they're going to make it but what do we know about biewald or randi hunter? probably not enough yet. in a couple more years i'm sure we will.
be REAL to these girls and bring back u/23's. it's the right stepping stone to making the transition to NSWT that much less daunting.

Yep CIS is a good development tool as a compliment to the club system. The CIS is not an end in itself, we need both as not all top players will go to University...
Agree that a strong U23 program should be brought back as well.
We can only dream...
